Basti (Herbalized Enema)
Basti is the most important procedure in panchakarma. Owing to its extensive purifying as well as healing potential, Basti is regarded as the most effective procedure among all the other treatments. This procedure helps to remove toxins from the colon by giving specialized herbal enemas. It is useful in eliminating Vata related disorders, like sandhivata (joint pain), pakshaghat (hemiplegia), grudhrasi (sciatica), ardita (facial palsy), kampavata (parkinsonism) etc.

PindaSweda
In this procedure, hot rice is packed and tied in a cotton cloth (rice cooked in special decoction and medicated milk) and is massaged with special strokes over the affected area or all over the body. Pindasweda removes stiffness and provides nourishment to the skin, bones and muscles. It is also useful in treating multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, hemiplegia.
Pizhichil (Sarvangdhara)
This treatment is regarded as a Royal Treatment’. Gently pouring oil all over the body like an oil bath with a light massage. This treatment is particularly useful in all vata disorders (neurological disorders), joint pain, hemiplegia, prostate related problems, fatigue, etc.

Kati Basti is a procedure in which warm medicated oil is poured and kept over the lumbosacral area or any adjacent part for a certain period with the help of a ring prepared from dough of black gram flour. The oil penetrates deep into the skin and muscles which reduces pain and constipation.
Urobasti (Hridbasti)
This is a heart rejuvenating Treatment. Lukewarm medicated oil/decoction is poured and kept over the heart in an elevated cabin prepared from dough of black gram flour for a certain period. This procedure improves circulation and strength of the heart. Urobasti is effective in combating heart diseases and circulatory disorders.
Urobasti (Hridbasti)
This is a heart rejuvenating Treatment. Lukewarm medicated oil/decoction is poured and kept over the heart in an elevated cabin prepared from dough of black gram flour for a certain period. This procedure improves circulation and strength of the heart. Urobasti is effective in combating heart diseases and circulatory disorders.
Janubasti
In this procedure the knee joint is bathed in warm medicated oil. This is especially helpful in curing knee joint pain, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis.
